Overview

RideList is a bilingual campus ridesharing app for finding rides, arranging trips, and communicating with other riders. It has supported more than 60 trips, more than 75 messages, and 7 completed bookings, as recorded in my October 2026 résumé.

Matching and messaging

I used PostGIS for privacy-preserving geospatial ride matching. Firebase supports real-time messaging and trip synchronization, while Bash scripts on Linux automate PostgreSQL backups.

Infrastructure

The app runs on Next.js with Vercel-hosted APIs and a self-hosted PostgreSQL database. I secured communication between them using a custom certificate authority and mutual TLS. The project also uses the Cloudflare API, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
